Revfore Flex is intentionally industry agnostic and designed to support a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics and transportation, services, healthcare, retail, energy, and technology. Rather than embedding industry logic into the core solution, Revfore Flex introduces industry-specific behavior through configurable extensions. This approach allows organizations to tailor planning models to their industry while preserving a common, upgrade-safe core.
Yes. Revfore Flex is designed to be developer-friendly and extensible. OneStream developers can extend the solution using standard OneStream tools and techniques, including custom business rules, calculations, workflows, and database extensions. Revfore Flex provides a structured foundation that reduces the need to build planning frameworks from scratch, allowing developers to focus on business logic and value-added enhancements.
Revfore Flex is built to evolve over time without redesign. Its flexible workflow engine allows organizations to change planning structures, introduce new planning sections, and modify workflows year over year while preserving historical planning approaches. This enables organizations to adapt to reorganizations, acquisitions, new business models, or new planning requirements without rebuilding the solution.
The Revfore Flex Excel Add-In is designed for simple, controlled, enterprise-grade deployment. Revfore recommends deploying the add-in through the Integrated Apps portal in the Microsoft 365 admin center, which allows administrators to centrally deploy the add-in to users or groups across the organization. Add-ins deployed through the Microsoft 365 admin center are available immediately in Office applications, require no client-side configuration, and follow standard Microsoft security and governance practices. This approach also enables administrators to manage visibility, access, and lifecycle centrally, ensuring a consistent and well-governed Excel planning experience for end-users.
Revfore Flex includes a comprehensive set of administrative tools designed for FP&A and business administrators. Admins can manage planning structures, workflow behavior, attributes, extension items, security, and metadata without heavy IT involvement. The solution emphasizes transparency, consistency, and control while remaining accessible to non-technical users.
Yes. Revfore Flex fully supports hybrid scenarios that combine actual and plan data within the same forecast or scenario. This allows organizations to perform rolling forecasts, reforecasts, and scenario analysis that seamlessly blend historical actuals with forward-looking assumptions.
Yes. Revfore Flex stores detailed item-based planning data in a relational, well-described database structure, making it straightforward to extract data for downstream reporting and analytics. Organizations can integrate planning detail into platforms such as Snowflake or Power BI using standard data integration tools, enabling enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.
Absolutely. Revfore Flex is designed to be partner-friendly, and Revfore actively collaborates with other OneStream partners for implementation, extension, and support. This includes joint delivery models, partner-led implementations, and co-development scenarios, depending on client needs.
Yes. Revfore Flex supports both direct cube-based planning and relational item-based planning. Organizations can choose the appropriate planning approach for each use case and even combine both within the same planning process, providing maximum flexibility across financial and operational planning scenarios.
No. Revfore Flex is designed so that FP&A and business teams can manage and extend the solution independently, with minimal IT involvement. IT participation is typically limited to standard governance, security, and infrastructure oversight.
Revfore Flex is built with upgrade safety in mind. Industry- and client-specific functionality is isolated in extension maintenance units, allowing the core solution to be upgraded independently without disrupting existing configurations or customizations.
Revfore Flex makes it straightforward to introduce and maintain global rates tables, such as labor rates, exchange rates, fuel rates, or allocation drivers. Rates are stored in the relational planning layer, can be versioned and time-aware, and can be referenced consistently across calculations and planning areas. New rate tables can be added without disrupting existing plans or workflows.
Yes. Revfore Flex supports time-aware formulas, allowing organizations to modify formulas for current and future plans while preserving historical calculation logic. This ensures that prior-period results remain auditable and unchanged, even as planning assumptions and methodologies evolve.
Revfore Flex synchronizes with OneStream’s native user and security group model rather than managing users and security independently. This ensures consistent governance and alignment with existing enterprise security policies, while allowing user and security data to be extended and optimized within Revfore Flex for querying, reporting, and planning workflows.
Revfore Flex synchronizes with OneStream dimensions and hierarchies rather than replacing or duplicating dimension management. This preserves OneStream as the system of record while allowing dimension data to be extended and optimized within Revfore Flex for flexible planning units, drivers, and efficient querying across planning and reporting workflows.
Yes. Revfore Flex supports time-aware and configuration-aware planning activities, allowing new planning activities to be introduced alongside existing ones without altering historical results. Organizations can evolve planning logic and processes for current and future periods while preserving prior behavior for auditability, comparability, and historical accuracy.
Yes. Revfore Flex includes a Revfore Excel Add-In that allows users to plan directly in Excel while working with dynamic relational planning data. This enables familiar Excel workflows without sacrificing data integrity, governance, or alignment with OneStream.
Yes. Budgets, forecasts, and their relational item-based planning data can be exported to Excel for offline review, sharing, or archiving. Exported files preserve structure and detail while remaining disconnected from the live planning environment.
As with any solution, overall data volume increases over time and may introduce incremental performance impact. Revfore Flex is designed to manage this growth intentionally by partitioning planning data by year, ensuring that active planning periods remain highly performant while historical data is retained for analysis and audit purposes.
Yes. Revfore Flex fully supports custom dashboards and CubeViews, leveraging standard OneStream capabilities. In addition, relational meta views can be reused across dashboards and reporting, providing consistent insight across planning areas and user roles.
Yes. Revfore Flex allows stage data to be loaded once and reused across multiple plans, improving efficiency, consistency, and control while still allowing selective promotion into each plan.
Revfore Flex does not require or integrate with OneStream’s Capital, People, or Thing Planning solutions. It is designed to operate independently as a flexible, holistic planning framework. That said, Revfore Flex can coexist with OneStream’s planning solutions where appropriate. Organizations may choose to leverage OneStream-delivered planning solutions alongside Revfore Flex or use Revfore Flex to address planning scenarios that extend beyond the scope or structure of those solutions. This allows customers to adopt a planning architecture that best fits their needs while maintaining a unified OneStream platform.
Revfore Flex creates AI-safe export files by giving administrators fine-grained control over what planning data can be shared with AI and analytics platforms. Admins can explicitly define which item types (such as people data, asset data, or other planning entities) are eligible for export, ensuring sensitive or restricted data remains protected. At the field level, administrators can determine which attributes may be exported and which should be tokenized prior to export. Tokenized fields are replaced with secure, non-identifiable values before data leaves the environment, allowing AI engines to process the data without exposure to sensitive information. When results are returned, Revfore Flex can safely reverse-tokenize those fields locally, restoring meaningful values without transmitting sensitive data externally. Combined with structured, metadata-rich exports and versioned, scoped datasets, this approach enables organizations to leverage AI and advanced analytics confidently while maintaining governance, security, and auditability.
